A Material Study on Bowls

This is not only a design project, but also a study on materials. The designers of Source Studio in Ventura use several kinds of materials, like glass, rubber, ceramic, etc., to make a bowl. They want to show the merits of materials and explore more possibilities.

The gold rim bowls, gold bowls and grey porcelain bowls are designed by Andrea Baumann. It was shaped by hand without the pottery wheel which created an irregular thickness of the bowl walls and produced unique individual shape.
