Pepe Heykoop, a designer from Netherlands along with his cousin’s initiative Tiny Miracles have created a community in India, in an attempt to bring about a social and economic change and step to eradicate poverty. Their goal is to pull 700 people from the slums in India, educate, train them and employ them to create sustainable paper lamps and vases which generates an income for them.

They have been quite successful in their motive and has displayed some wonderful designs at Hall 22 Salone Satellite, Rho Fiera.

I am an enthusiastic designer vagabonding around Milan to explore art, fashion and design. Being a part of the Creative Academy has provided me with the quintessential platform to widen my horizon. It has not only given me the fantastic opportunity to be in Milan this year but also a chance to discover the Salone Del Mobile and Expo 2015, which will not fail to surprise me. Milan for me is the perfect blend of conventional people, unconventional design and history.
